History
The idea for the Stratos Tower first came about in 2006. The idea was proposed by Frank Lamb, the great grandson of William F. Lamb, who was the designer of the Empire State building. The architectural design was produced in just two weeks by Lamb and several partners. Originally, the Stratos Tower was going to be built in Los Angeles, but was changed to Booneville. The project construction superintendent, John Bowser, said in an interview this was because they wanted this new American landmark to be in a central location. Excavation for the tower began in 2008 and construction is expected to be completed by 2015.
